The Twilight Series

Fire and Ice

Some say the world will end in fire.
Some say in ice.
From what I've tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice.

Robert Frost

A friend of mine introduced me to a new book series about vampires and werewolves.  I know it sounds strange but it's a love story and I'm hooked.  I read all three 500+ page books in a week.   Needless to say the kids were fed but not much else got done.  The author is an LDS (BYU graduate) stay-at-home mom who had a dream one night and wrote it into a novel.  Now the third book in her series knocked Harry Potter off the #1 spot of bestsellers.  I was so sad to read the last few pages of her latest book because I didn't want the story to end.  I wasn't ready to let go of the characters that I'd fallen in love with (yes-it's that good).  I went to the authors website and was thrilled to learn that she is working on book 4 which will be released next fall and a movie will begin production this winter.  Critics are comparing this new author to J.K. Rowling and think her series will be just as popular as Harry Potter.  So, I'm encouraging everyone to jump on the bandwagon and read these books.  You won't be disappointed.

Book titles are: Twilight, New Moon and Eclipse by Stephenie Meyer.  Her website www.stepheniemeyer.com is pretty cool too!

I actually read them when I still lived in Washington. All the places in the book are not too far from where we lived. We even drove through Forks last year in search of vampires - but no luck, it was a sunny day.
