Budding photographer

I decided to try my hand at a little home photography taking photos of the girls for Christmas. Here's how they turned out.

Fun with Addy!

Addy likes to plug her nose and say "Stinky" when I'm changing her poopie diaper. Makes me wonder why she took her diaper off during nap time the other day (again) and played with the contents. Gross!!

We came home from church the other day and Addison starting getting undressed. She especially likes to take her own diaper off (not a good thing when it's messy) as often as she can these days. She still had her socks and shoes on and ran around the house for awhile in this state. Such inhibition!

Lost in space

We made it six years and we're still going strong! This weekend my hubby and I ran away to celebrate our wedding anniversary (thanks mom and dad for staying with the kids). Several months ago we went to a travelshare presentation and they gave us a free room at the anniversary inn. Because it was free we didn't get to choose which room they put us in. Sooooooo, we were given the "Lost in space" room and it was awesome! I attached some photos so you can get an idea of what it was like. My absolute favorite part of the room was the rocket toilet. The toilet was located all by itself inside a simulated rocket. There were control panels inside and flashing red lights. All of the walls and ceiling were painted with glow in the dark paint and lit up with black lights. The whole room just glowed. The mirror also had some funky lights in it that gave you a tunneled illusion. The metallic curtain and silver blinds were also a nice touch. We had a perfect view of the Logan temple from our bed which was beautiful. There was cheesecake and chilled sparkling cidar waiting in the room when we arrived and the next morning a yummy breakfast of pastries and yogurt parfait was delivered to our door. All I can say is "Beam me up scotty!" Can't wait to do it again.

Christmas 2007

I know I'm a little behind but that's what happens in the middle of buying and selling a house. Christmas was spent in Star Valley this year with my side of the family. Of course my girls were spoiled constantly by grandma and grandpa and it took me a week to sugar detox them and get them back into a routine. We played in the abundance of snow that Wy. provides. Evie enjoyed riding on the snowmobile around the hayfield. We even pulled Mark behind it on his snowboard for a little creative fun. There were a lot cousins, grandparents, aunts and uncles to visit and play games with. We stayed up waaaaaayyyyy too late every night playing games and it was hard to function with the kids in mornings (vacations are rough). My sister brought her PSP and Mark and I were initiated into Guitar Hero and Dance dance revolution. We are totally addicted now and are saving our pennies for our own. The most entertaining thing was watching my mom and dad face off. On Christmas Eve we enjoyed our usual traditions of opening new p.j.'s, reading the Christmas story from Luke and setting our milk and cookies for Santa. Christmas morning was all about the girls. Because they were the only small kids there we let them have all glory. It was a lot easier to let them open their presents first and then put Addy down for a nap so that we could open ours. Addy loved her new baby doll from Santa and Evie's favorite was her new princess dress up clothes. In the middle of opening presents we got a call from Mark's brother Michael on his mission in Russia. Turns out they celebrate Christmas on Jan. 7th over there. Later that day we all went over to grandpa's house to help him celebrate and watch him open his gifts. This is his second holiday season without his dear companion and it's still hard. Next it was off to the church to play B-ball and V-ball and let the girls run around the gym. We played hard enough to have sore muscles the next day but it was a good kind of sore. Of course a visit to S.V. wouldn't be complete without biscuits and gravy from grandma Clines. The girls and I rode him with my sister from St. George and it was quite an adventure. She didn't have snow tires and we had pretty bad roads the whole way home. Always an adventure. What mattered most was that we were able to make memory's together which is more important than anything else in life. Until someone takes that opportunity away from you you really don't know what your missing.

Phoneraiser

Many of you know that as a child I suffered from Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. After 18 mo. of chemo and radiation I was considered cured and have since lived a healthy life. Because of my experience and the things I've learned I now feel it's my duty as an adult to give back in any way that I can. So.................

I'm conducting a "phoneraiser" for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society for the next month. I'm asking anyone with a used cell phone or ink cartridge to donate them to me. There are online companies that recycle these items and pay the charity of your choice a small stipend. All of the proceeds will then go to the LLS as I'm trying to get more involved in cancer research and support. Also, my family and I will be doing the Relay For Life again the spring for anyone that wants to get involved. Thanks again for all your support.

p.s. if you'd like to mail the items e-mail me and I'll send you my address.

Dancing with a true gentleman

My cute little 18 yr. old (I know) cousin got married in November and most of my family went down to St. George to her wedding. It was like a family reunion and we had a blast. At the reception they had a D.J. We brought my Grandpa with us and we were about to take him home for the night when he announced that he wasn't leaving until all of his granddaughters danced with him. There were 10 of us plus his 2 daughters! He is 96 yrs. old! It was a treasured moment. Dancing was something he and my grandma did a lot throughout their married life. In fact, they met at a military dance as grandpa was in the Army. As they got older and it was harder to get around they would just stand in the living room and sway to the music. We lost my grandma almost two years ago and we are so happy that my grandpa is doing so well and still dancing!

Our house is for sale!!

Our house is officially on the market and we are both excited to move on and sad to leave our cute little house.  We have been here for 5 1/2 years and it our home holds a lot of memories.  At least we will be able to drive by it a lot as we are only moving 4 houses up the street.  I know it sounds crazy but we got lucky getting a HUD house that needs just a little work and we really love our neighborhood and ward.  So, I'm using my blog as a real estate advertisement.  Tell anyone you know that they can have a nice house in Ogden for a good price.  The best part about our place is the mother-in-law apt. in the bsmt!  Here's the link to the official ad on KSL.

Then I took the stamp away....(so sad)
