I recently saw an amazing movie. It's in Italian so you have to read the captions the whole time, but it's definitely worth it. The director (Roberto Benigni) is also the main character in the film called "The Tiger and the Snow." He celebrates life in the most distressing of times which is such a beautiful concept to me. In the movie he plays a romantic poet who vows to go to the ends of the earth for the love of his life-even if that means going to Iraq at the dawn of the American invasion.

I originally saw a similar movie of his a few years ago called "Life is Beautiful." This one was set during WWII and labeled a tragicomedy. The same actor/director is sent to a concentration camp with his wife and young son. Throughout their imprisonment he refuses to give up hope by telling his son that they are part of an elaborate game where the winner receives a tank for the grand prize.
These descriptions may sound strange, but you have to see the movies for yourself. Just keep lots of tissues on hand.

Thanks for the recommendations! Maybe I'll bump some of Eric's movies off Netflix so that I can watch these. :)
